The Bane Chronicles: What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything (And Who You’re Not Officially Dating Anyway) by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan

TBC

Time was something that moved in fits and starts for Magnus, dissipating like mist or dragging like chains, but when Alec was here, Magnus’s time seemed to fall into an easy rhythm with Alec’s, like two heartbeats falling into sync. He felt anchored by Alec, and his who self felt restless and mutinous when Alec was not there, because he knew how different it would be when Alec was there, how the tumultuous world would quiet at the sound of Alec’s voice.

It’s what we have all been waiting for folks. Fangirl your little hearts out!

Malec.

MALEC.

Literally almost nothing else to say about this. If you ever curious about how Magnus fell in love with Alec, look no farther.

It even has the occasional ominous Magnus’-father-who-is-probably-Lucifer comment in it. If you are a fan of The Infernal Devices, you’ll find some hilarious references that may slip past those who haven’t read them. So that’s a thing.

It’s obvious that this is a good one, right? Oh, also, as far as I can tell this takes place just after City of Bones maybe? Or even during it really. Anyone out there know exactly when Alec’s birthday is?

The amount of quotes I loved from this is probably borderline plagiarism… so go enjoy them!

  1. I have been so super busy that I only just finished this! I loved it. Especially because it shows a side to Alec that I never saw in the Mortal Instruments. I never liked Alec. But this was a step in the right direction. But Alec does have one of the quotes that I can almost remember word-for-word because it’s so heartbreaking: “It’s not something you can protrct me from, Izzy, it’s like a thousand tiny paper cuts every day.” And I always liked Izzy. So when Izzy showed up in protectiom of her older brother I was like “Yay!!!”
